Disney VR tech aims to mix in real-world interactions

The Walt Disney Co. sees the potential in raising the bar on virtual-reality experiences. The theme park giant filed a patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that essentially aims to bring actions like catching a ball happen both in a virtual and real world setting to make immersion in the virtual setting more realistic. For example, imagine a setting where a virtual reality user in thrown an object by a character in the VR world, and as the user raises his hand to catch it, a real life object of the same size and shape hits their hand — creating the sensations they expect to feel.

  1. I think that the virtual-reality experiences are going to be a big deal in the world to come, many people are going to want to enter new worlds in digital space
